I'm relaxed, focused, ready for a hard days work. As I begin to type up a document of ultimate importance on my computer, a beaming coworker scurries over open envelope in hand, soliciting my regards for whomever's whatever. A day doesn't go by that isn't and occasion. Birthdays. New babies. New careers. Returning to countries of origin. Promotions. And deaths... fucking deaths. Half of the time I don't even know the person for whom I am signing the card, I have to read all the other messages people wrote in there in order to discern what appropriate message I will send. Thank God I've now found an all-encompassing and ever-efficient solution to this office bane. My boss should thank me (though not in card form).
