Dear Mr. or Ms.

Let's face it. Being a wild success is very time consuming; so don't expect any more blog posts until April when the $400-a-plate Gala season is over.

List and Found!

Someone left this on the counter near the tip jar at my work. I was impressed that they included the prices.

Packages Packages

I got a couple packages today. I foolishly shipped one to a fake name and had a rough time receiving it at the post office. What made it extra awkward was that the woman working there was Indian and didn't even recognize my fake name. She thought I was stealing someones package. Thank god I had another one there to prove I lived at the same address. Contents to come.

PS. I know I made a typo.

First Contact

This is the first stereotypical blog post I have made but I have to promote a few must see Contact shows.
The first is Breakdown at Xexe, all the work was great, but I was absolutely blown away by Robyn Cummings new work (see above).

The second is a solo show of Jeff Bark's imagery at Nicholas Metivier. (See Abandon (Snap) above). Absolutely phenomenal stuff. I really like his attention to detail and painterly aesthetics. He was also a great guy to observe and talk to at his opening.

Swan Lake (pictured above) is one of my favorites from Geoffrey Pugen's show at Angell Gallery which shows a new and may I say way more appealing direction for him in his photographic work. As much as I hate to say it, he definitely has a comparable career to Crewdson.

Finally, Close Distance is on at the Harbourfront Centre gallery. Yes I am part of this show, but even if I wasn't it would be a must see. Lena Oehmsen has dome an amazing job of bringing like minded artists together.

Post Finale: It has been my first serious Contact festival and the Star Trek franchise has a film titled First Contact. So I guess if you see these shows and want more, go see the new Trekkie flick, I know I'm going to. And yes... that is Eric Bana.

I can paint!

Well I can mix paint and apply it to a grid. So essentially, I can paint by numbers. I call this one change it's 4x4' and in case you haven't figured it out yet its of Barack Obama. I made it for an assignment about the oversaturization of imagery and the media in our lives. Still don't see it? Try covering one eye and blurring your other one. Still don't see it? Either you don't know who Barack Obama is, or I have failed.

UPDATE!: I got an 80 in this class! And I took it as a joke.

The Portrait

This is proof that I learned something in David Campbell's class. Also if you are Nathan, I'm expecting a comment because you complained about me never updating.

Dirty Confession

I was putting off sweeping for weeks, maybe months. Hoping Salina would come and sweep it for me. She wants to photograph my dirt (and your dirt too). Anyhow I bagged it and will give it too her.

The text reads:

"Dear Salina,
I could not bear
to wait any longer.
Here are the former
contents of my bedroom
floor. Most of the dust
was under my chairs and
the better part of the
dirt was shaken from my
bedside mat.
Enjoy, Darren"
